HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

The EuropCorr® hydraulic solid/hollow plug differs from the mechanical type by not having external threads thus eliminating galling which is a common problem with mechanical plugs.
The hydraulic plugs are designed to be used with the hydraulic access fittings and hydraulic retrieval tool under full operating pressure, there are two types of plug assemblies:

Solid plugs - used for various types of coupon holders, sacrificial sand probes and Chemical Injection/Sampling devices; solid plug assembly consists of:

- Solid Plug Body
- Primary Packing
- Wear Ring
- Solid plug Nut with set screw
- Pipe Plug

The solid plug nut ensures the primary packing in position when there is no corrosion monitoring device attached to the solid plug.

Hollow plugs - used for ER probes, LPR probes, Galvanic probes, Sand probes, Hydrogen probes and any other type of sensors that require a cable connection.
Hydraulic hollow plug assembly consists of:
- Hollow Plug Body
- Primary Packing
- Wear Ring
- Hollow Plug Nut with set screw
- Hollow Plug Sealing Nut
- Pipe Plug

Plug body material is as a standard made from A182 F316L, but can be offered in other types of material for special service. The standard plug sealing primary packing is made from 25% glass filled PTFE, metal primary packing is used for high temperature service. Wear rings is made from 25% glass filled PTFE to ensure proper sliding capabilities of the plugs during installation and retrieval operation, it can be also made from Graphite for high temperature service.

MECHANICAL SYSTEM

The EuropCorr® mechanical solid/hollow plug are the internal parts of the access fittings which act as the seal of access fitting to maintain the line pressure as well as the retrievable carrier for holding the monitoring devices.
There are two types of plug assemblies which can be used for high pressure access fittings:

Solid plugs - used for various types of coupon holders, sacrificial sand probes and Chemical Injection/Sampling devices; solid plug assembly consists of:

- Solid Plug Body
- Primary Packing
- O-ring
- Solid plug Nut with set screw
- Pipe Plug

The solid plug nut ensures the primary packing in position when there is no corrosion monitoring device attached to the solid plug.

Hollow plugs - used for ER probes, LPR probes, Galvanic probes, Sand probes, Hydrogen probes and any other type of sensors that require a cable connection.
Hollow plug assembly consists of:
- Hollow Plug Body
- Primary Packing
- Hollow Plug Nut with set screw
- Hollow Plug Sealing Nut
- Pipe Plug

Plug body material is as a standard made from A182 F316L, but can be offered in other types of material for special service. The standard plug sealing primary packing is made from 25% glass filled PTFE, metal primary packing is used for high temperature service. Solid plug o-ring is in viton, special material can be offered for critical service conditions such as sour service.

The threads on the plug which mate with the access fitting body may be PTFE coated to reduce the risk of galling.
