HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

The EuropCorr® high pressure two inch hydraulic access fittings have the advantage of no internal threads thus avoiding galling problem which is common with mechanical system. The hydraulic system requires less operational clearance when retrieving due to the very small size hydraulic retrieval tool compared to a mechanical retrieval tool which is almost double the size.
Hydraulic access fittings come in different mounting types: Welded (Flareweld, Buttweld), Threaded NPT, Flanged and Trapped. Four locking pins hold the internal plug in position during retrieval operations.

The hydraulic system has the following advantages with comparison to the traditional mechanical system:

- no internal threads
- low weight and small size retrieval tool
- less operational clearance
- no external moving parts of the retrieval tool
- increased safety during retrieval operation

The Hydraulic access fittings are also available as side Tee type access fittings for sacrificial type sand probes or chemical injection/sampling equipment.

Hydraulic adapters can be provided to convert the existing two inch mechanical system into 2 inch hydraulic system for a safer and more reliable operation, such converting can be done without having a shutdown.

MECHANICAL SYSTEM

The EuropCorr® standard high pressure access fittings permit access to systems under full operating pressure, eliminating any need of system shut-down. The access fittings allow safe and easy insertion and retrieval of corrosion monitoring devices by means of a service valve and retrieval tool.
The high pressure access fitting assemblies for installation of corrosion probes, corrosion coupons, sacrificial sand probe and chemical injection/sampling devices, are designed in different mounting types: Welded (Flareweld, Buttweld, Socketweld), Threaded NPT, Flanged and Trapped.
Access fittings can be mounted at any position of the pipeline that local operating conditions permit. Trap fittings are usually mounted underneath of the pipeline for gathering samples of the liquids and residues that exist along the bottom of pipeline. Monitoring through traps simulates the corrosive conditions of stagnant locations that may exist in the pipeline.
Access fittings may even be installed under system pressure with the use of a hot tap tool.
The mechanical access fitting is also available as side Tee type for sacrificial type sand probes or chemical injection/sampling equipment.
